Hi, I have just completed a vaio recovery and reclaimed the resved 5 gb space on my TR2P3. Everything thing works pefect however, the sony file folder pops up every time I start up windows. I guess it doesn’t do any harm but it really bugs me. Any suggestions?
Check and see if your startup folder contains a shortcut to the folder that pops-up. I just placed a shortcut to a folder in my startup folder and restarted my machine. After restarting, that folder popped up. May be the same thing is happening with you.
May be you could try the System Configuration Utility. Type “msconfig” in the Run box. Look at the entries under the startup tab. Be careful though since doing something wrong might cause problems.
yup..tried that too. that’s why i’m going crazy and finally decided to submited my first post on this fourm :D maybe i need to reinstall the factory softwares that i have deleted.
I’m almost positive this has been posted before. Basically, look at all of your startup items and check for any shortcut/link that’s long and may have spaces in it.
I would install this . Install it and then look in your control panels for STARTUP. Then once in there you can see/edit/control any of your startup items.
what’s weird is that when i remove the clie palm desktop, the problem disappears. thats odd because i have palm desktop on my other system and the sony folder never pops up..
Here’s a thought: gr00vy was probably right. The shortcut to the Sony Hotsync program is “C:\Program Files\Sony Handheld\HOTSYNC.EXE”. Check the Hotsync ahortcut in your Startup folder.
