cool, yeah i was looking at liksang, did you get yours from there? nuplayer want 250 quid + shipping (ok they give you a game), so liksang is by far the cheapest at around 190 shipping and value pack, and free shipping on games too…
how many dead pixels you got then? what about all those other issues people are moaning about?
im so psyched up i really want one now, when i first heard about the psp i was like yeah big shit, i used to have game gear once, been there done that, but i saw some clips, the screen looks awesome and being able to use it as a web browser and e-mail client, which im sure will be soon, is just top notch, mp3 player and dont forget the ‘dvd’ player. and its only 280 grams.
mind you theres only two games i want, pro ev 4, youll know what its abreviated from if your a fan, and GT4, and maybe prob. wipeout.

Yeah I remember Game Gear I played it a lot especially the Sonic Hedgehog games I have.. I hope Sega release it for PSP, that will be awesome.. reliving my primary years.. :D I hope you didn’t get rid of your Game Gear? I think mine was sold to one of my Mom’s Yard sale during the weekends when I was away for Youth camp.. Real classic though..
And yeah get Wipeout Pure .. seriously Mike get it.. 8)
no other issues to report - the battery lasts over 5 hours, contrary to the rhumours. I have 2 tiny dead pixels, only visible on a totally black screen as pin-pricks of grey.
bought my psp just after xmas so paid the price but have had umd games from lik-sang with no problems. You may get stung for customs tho - so beware. Play-asia are good also.
heh, i traded it in with my mega drive for a playstation (first one that is)
bloody hell that was so long ago, i remember me on my bicycle goin to the shop…memories, oh and i got wipeout on the PS too then, maybe its a sign?
rich.. you posted 4 seconds faster than me, previous post was for archival.
anyway, cool thanks for the info rich, your helping me rid myself of 200 pounds cheers..
i dont believe battery life to be a prob on the PSP, considering you could prob. get 10 hours of mp3, even 2-3 hours of gaming and 2 off a movie it should be plenty, but for someone who feels its not enough, an extra battery would take you up to a good 6 hours, i dont know about you, but finding 6 hours in a day for the PSP might hurt my eyes a bit and make me slightly anti social… abit like this forum really
Yeah I agree with Mike.. I’ve been playing some MP3 for the past 2 hrs right now, and the battery is saying 85%, hours left 6:27hrs.. I think I could watch Spiderman for 2x and still be able to play Wipeout for an hour 8)
i was just thinking, the game gear is how old? 10? did it have tft technology? i mean it sure wasnt CRT, do you think the game gear was ahead of its time? mind you the batteries couldnt even run it for more than an hour, ok im exagerating, an hour and half then.

It was ahead of technology…it was too bulky and killed batteries. I got a rechargable battery pack that attached to the back of it, but essentially my GG was never portable beyond using it in the car when I was a kid. I loved my original GB but the GG offered color, backlight, and a host of SEGA ports. At the time the Genesis was destroying the SNES in the US and I liked being able to play the games on the console and then in some form on my handheld.
IMO, and I think facts support it, the GG was the second best handheld yet. (ignoring the PSP).

Just to refresh your memories it looks like this
I think it’s more than 10 years Mike. And yeah It drains Battery quick.. and it was VERY very hot I tell yah.. I need to be near an air-con just to finish Sonic.. And I’ve finished it many times.. The display though, it looks TFT technology when I pry it open one day and it has visible fine lines going up and down that can be found on pocketable TVs nowadays.. I now remember how mine died, When Playing Sonic the game, sonic would run automatically to the LEFT and when I press right button he’s so slow to go right.. I don’t know exactly what happened and next thing I know the light turned off.. It was really buggy that time.. But it was the coolest technology before as far as I can remember because you can watch TV as well..
[quote author=“Mike”]ive heard that jap PSPs have better screens, they use erm… cant remember, but they dont use the samsung ones, anyone heard of a Jap. PSP with dead pixels?
Yup - mine - 3 of ‘em, but they really do no hamper its performance at all—they are so small that you really don’t notice them.
sorry about that, even though it prob. isnt much of a problem… though where did you get urs from? lik-sang? have you tried speaking to them about the pixel problem?
