I cought Bourne tonight and during a tense, climactic scene (when Landy enters Abbott’s hotel room) I tap my brother on the shoulder and say “hey, he’s got a TR on his desk.” It’s on the left.
It’s as good as the first except for the editing. Bring your dramamine!
It was frustrating. On one hand the plot and the acting were both great, better than the first film. On the other, the director, editor and cameraman need to be shot. The director likes to use handhelds (even during extreme closeups) and uses an insane amount of quick-cuting and blurring during action scenes. The car chase was enough to induce seizures in japanese schoolchildren. My brother went into the movie a little sick and ended up on the bathroom floor within two hours of coming home!
When my eyes weren’t straining to focus on something, I really enjoyed it. If they do end up doing a Bourne Ultimatum, I really hope Doug Liman comes back to direct.
Good flick, there was quite a line at the theater even though the gf and I arrived 45 minutes early for a matinee showing. The fight scene with Zorn was frustrating due to the fast cuts and shaky camera Drachen mentioned, why even choreograph a kickass fight when you can’t see what’s going on? The car chase was also quite good, though some reviews calling it better than the one in Ronin are wrong IMO.
I did the same thing with the TR!!!!! I wasn’t sure if it was a TR because they didn’t show it for long, but I told my wife and she rolled her eyes at me. The nerve.
I agree with the cameraman, off with his head! I’m sure their goal was to create ambiguity and we as the viewer were supposed to fill in the ‘blanks’ with our own imagination, but that still does not forgive them. Outside of this flaw, the movie was fantastic.
Just about everyone I know thinks I am a perfect cross between Matt Damon and “Stifler” from American Pie. Go figure.
I have not seen the movie yet and not sure what studio made it, but just as a side note: have you guys noticed most movies made by Sony’s Columbia studio features Apple notebooks!!! I hardly ever see Sony notebooks when I see their movies and it makes me sick! You would think Sony would promote their brand in this manner, but instead you see Dell or some Apple.

Maybe it’s like Fox and the Simpsons, every chance they get they poke fun at Fox even though its who pay’s the bills…maybe those made by Sony get pissed off and put Apple in just for spite.
[quote author=“TruthSeeker”]OK, GoatCamel, I’m sure I am not the only person with this curiosity. How did you get your screen name and what’s the story behing your avatar?

Regarding the movie…it was decent with nice touches of humor but I think the first one was better. The gf was pissed that they took out you know who so quickly. Run Lola Run!
Yeah, the director of photography and anyone responsible for the filming and editing need to be tied to a chair and forced to watch the Simple Life non-stop a la Clockwork Orange….ok, nevermind…they might actually like…
I think the mini chase scene was better…
That one CIA guy…you know, the one with the Southern drawl is totally type casted…he always plays the corrupt CIA type guy…he was basically the same kind of role in that bad Keanu Reaves movie (Chain Reaction) and didn’t he play a similar role in X-Men 2? Not that I’m complaining but it’s funny to see. And that Russian assassin guy…Chronicles of Riddick?
