How do you turn off the wireless?

Personally, I find the hardware button to turn off the wireless is a bit flimsy. Does anyone face any problem with it after months of usage? i.e. keeps toggling between ON and OFF for the wireless?

Mine mostly stays in the ON position but I haven’t faced any problems toggling in between the ON and OFF positions. Infact I find it much more convenient than having to disable my wireless connection. I’ve had my TR for 2 months now.

Until I installed the wireless switch (coincidental with BT installation) I would turn the Hardware Button on and off quite a bit depending on my location.  I like being able to leave it on and change the setting with software only.  Switches tend to last longer when they are used less.

I use the switch for the bluetooth and 2.4ghz/5ghz band… it’s quick and easy… but I think it just freezes the icon on the computer… not really a problem just feels like a bug if it tries to search for a AP.

Atheros Client Utility… like the ProSET utilities for the Intel card.

I am in the same boat with Rahul.  However, I was not aware that the hardware button was problematic after time.  Are any of you having some real trouble with this?

My reference to buttons/switches breaking was a general statement and not directed toward any Sony product I have used.  I have actually had very good luck with my VAIO hardware (knock on wood) so far.

I probably use the switch a couple of times a day when I don’t need the wireless and want to get a little extra battery life out of the TR. So much easier than clicking around to disable it.

Bluetooth stays on 24/7. I just switch on WiFi with the wireless switcher app when I’m near an AP.

Since using the Intel Wireless Pro software as advised on this site (from the Toshiba link), I get much more stable connection & use the software on/off option instead of sliding the switch across (caution over wearing switch out!)
