I was prepared for a nightmare of a call to Sony to get a flat 30PIN ribbon cable for my TR. I was overwhelmed with the courteous and knowledgeable rep that answered. I thought I would share my experience.

Sony’s price was $8.03. Another website had a price that ‘impacted’ me at $49.95 (reg. $82.42).

When I usually call to order stuff I know the part number and stuff, and mostly do not have any problems. I utilize their website and if order has been placed before 4pm it ships the same day. Sometimes reps I talked to have no idea what I am talking about and have to do their research to find a particular part number, so I just ask them to fax me the exploded view of the parts so I could direct them to the right one. So far so good!

I ordered a set of recovery discs for an vaio R505 online once.  They arrived promptly so I’d say good service, although there was no actual human contact.  My aunt recently purchased my R505 and lost those dics and she also ordered a set.  She said they arrived in two days.
