Cooling fan on my t250 does not work, what’s the fix?

So if I leave my notebook on the cooling fan never comes on so it eventually overheats and crashes. I bought one of those cooling units that go underneath the laptop and that has helped out a great deal, but is this a part I can just buy, or do I need to call Sony.

After 3 years of working, the fan of my t2x finally died.
I’m searching the fan to replace it. In italy seems to be impossible find only the fan.
Can someone help me?

Clean under TX keys - how?

My left shift key is semi-stuck in the up position. I have to press down extra hard to get it to work. I suspect there might be a little dirt under the key.

How do I get under an individual key to clean it? I’m assuming the keys don’t pop out like on a desktop’s keyboard (right?), so what to do?

T150P Bluetooth

hi there

i’ve just purchased a refurbished T150P with XP Professional sp2(legit) installed. but, i couldn’t find “bluetooth devices” or similar such icon under “control panel”. one of the help site i looked had “bluetooth devices” icon listed under “printers and other devices”, but mine has “printers and faxes” icon instead and it doesn’t contain “bluetooth devices” icon.

is “bluetooth devices” hidden somewhere?

do i have to install some sort of driver? if so, where can i find the driver (i’m thinking sony related help center….).

Installing memory on a TX laptop

Hey guys. This is gonna sound a bit “iphone boring”, but how on Gods green earth do you intsall additional memory on a TX. I have a sony vaio TX750P/B and i think it only came with 512MB RAM. I opened the memory port on the bottom of the laptop but it only has one slot (unlike the TR which had two 512mb slots)and it is already occupied with the factory installed 512mb. Even if i wanted to max out the ram at 1.5GB, would i have to open up the laptop?? Hope not, first a broken screen and now this. Might as well use it as a frisbee… But before i do, Any help from any of the Gazillion TX owners would do. Cheers.

Have big problems with drivers for T250p and Windows Vista, please help

Ok, here’s the deal. I did a clean install of windows vista on my T250p and am having major problems:
1. I have installed the video driver and patch however, somehow the video driver uninstalls itself and prompts for re-installation after every reboot. Very annoying and it fails to install sometimes.
2. Sound doesn’t work even though the driver is installed
3. None of the F Hotkeys, or volume controls, or dvd buttons work.

Now, I’ve installed the hotkeys drivers. There are no unknown devices in the device manager, when I to launch the VCCMegabass.exe which is the in the Sony folder in my program files it gives me the message “You can’t launch”

I have read numerous forums trying to fix this, but feel lost, as I feel I’ve tried everything. Can someone help?

Hi I bought a broken txn15p and replaces the motherboard with one from ebay, now it asks for bios password. I contacted sony they cant help because
I dont have a store receipt what can I do. It wont boot without password.

TX5 Compatible battery

Hi,

I just bought a TX5MN (having fallen down the stairs with my T1XP destroying the screen and breaking something inside too!!).

The problem I am having is that I bought a ‘compatible’ battery from e-bay and when I install it, although it powers the laptop fine, a warning comes up telling me it wont work and I need to hibernate the machine and remove the battery! Is there a work around or can I not use compatible batterys with this machine?
