I checked and noticed that the retaining clip that holds the battery to the laptops chassis has sapped. the problem happened to both computers. AS a remedy i have resorted to using electical tape to keep the battery secure to the chassis. Has anyone experienced this? thanks
2008-01-27T07:46:35-08:00 Sony Vaio TT https://www.siliconpopculture.com/forum/viewthread/7553/ https://www.siliconpopculture.com/forum/viewthread/7553/#When:14:08:24Z
So it’s finally here, Sony’s new Ultra portable Vaiot TT.
It really kinda sounded like the Audi TT’s

Anyone has seen or observed this good looking laptops?
I haven’t been to Fry’s or Bestbuy for ages..
Been playing WoW haha..

Anyhow post comment and pics if you want, since the Sony website pics looks really flashy but I wonder how it looks on regular camera hues.
2008-10-28T14:08:24-08:00 FS: Mint Sony Vaio TR3AP laptop with DVD burner and extended battery https://www.siliconpopculture.com/forum/viewthread/7290/ https://www.siliconpopculture.com/forum/viewthread/7290/#When:21:38:06Z
Hey Guys. My aim is to have it sort of working like an OQO, that is by flipping the screen and have it slide up and down over the keyboard.

In addition I will try to either covnert the exsiting screen into a touch screen or by purchasing a new similar panel.

I am having a few problems deciding which is the best option for the screen, anyone with any ideas or input?

Thanks
2008-03-27T12:19:46-08:00 My Vaio TZ50B for sale on ebay! https://www.siliconpopculture.com/forum/viewthread/7396/ https://www.siliconpopculture.com/forum/viewthread/7396/#When:12:43:36Z
It’s here on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320195724435

also advertised on sonynotebookreview forum!

feel free to ask any questions
2007-12-12T12:43:36-08:00 SONY Vaio TZ best notebook of the year! https://www.siliconpopculture.com/forum/viewthread/7382/ https://www.siliconpopculture.com/forum/viewthread/7382/#When:04:24:17Z
Take a look at this web site: http://www.trustedreviews.com/home/review/2007/11/29/TrustedReviews-Awards-2007/p2

One of the “lower” models of the TZ series is selected to be the best notebook of 2007. Because I saw LCDs4less.com selling the LCD for the Vaio T series for example for at least $300.

I live in Houston and would like a local shop to replace the screen for me. What would be a good place to go, how much would they charge and how long would it take?

I hear you can do it yourself but ever since I somehow killed my Fujitsu Lifebook P5020D merely by taking out the hard drive, I am deathly afraid of tinkering inside any electronics.

I am also worried that a repair shop would have quite a difficult time installing the screen due to the TX having a much thinner, different screen than most laptops.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!!!
__________________
2006-10-28T04:55:44-08:00 TX for Student https://www.siliconpopculture.com/forum/viewthread/7342/ https://www.siliconpopculture.com/forum/viewthread/7342/#When:13:20:53Z
Hi,

I am an undergrad student and I am interested in getting a notebook. I mainly need it for making notes and writing papers, web surfing, looking running powerpoints or pdfs and making notes from them… but I want something which is small and light.

I had a chance to go to the sony store and play around with SZ and TZ series. Because I’ll be typing a lot, the salesman told me that the TZ would not be good, as my fingers would get cramped. But the SZ keyboard felt and sounded very cheap during typing, and the TZ did not seem that bad (although I can’t really test it for more than a few minutes, and I don’t know whether the feeling will change once my fingers get used to it.)

Now I have the chance to buy a vaio tx online and it is a very good deal. Do you think it will be able to handle my needs, and has anyone experienced any problems typing heavily for a few horus on the TX keyboard? Is the small keyboard something that everyone can get used to?

Thanks.
2007-10-06T13:20:53-08:00
