Hard Drive Crash

I have a S series sony S3XP and its been close to 3 years since i bought this laptop and the hard drive just crashed on me.

I’m in Boston , MA and i need to know what stores might carry a compatible hard drive, i don’t think i can wait any longer for it to arrive via a online order. Any help?? BTW the american equivalent is the Sony Vaio S460.

Sony vaio TX 850P Trouble.

Hi guys, i have a like new sony vaio TX850P laptop. I have hardly used it and just recently ive noticed that the battery is no longer being recognized by the laptop, nor is the laptop charging it. When i try to turn on the laptop with just the battery installed, nothing happens, no light. When i use the AC adapter, the laptop works fine… I thought the battery was the problem, so i replaced it and the issue persists. Ive tried changing the power profiles, nothing has worked so far. Help!

So, where the problem? Motherboard or something minor. Everyhting else on the laptop works great as it is basically new with less than 5hrs of usage on it.

I would really really appreciate any and every input.

Anyone know of a device tat can plug in to the computer via USB and be hooked up to component or a hdmi cable? I want to send a signal from my computer (via USB) to my plasma (via HDMI or Component(Red,GreenBlue))

Sup people. I’m the proud (and lucky)owner of a Sony Viao VGN-SZ320CP, had it for a year or two, very nice no problems or discrepencies, except that power supply issue but sony replaced the power supply without question (since it was still under warranty.

Yesterday I picked up an all in one Sony VGC-LT18CE (http://www.sonystyle.ca/commerce/servlet/ProductDetailDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&productId=1004506), another happy purchase. I was so sick of desktop towers such clutter bundled with my 19” crt monitor ( also huge depth wise), when I saw this sexy machine I had to have it. Got an awsome boxing day deal. It has many cool features but one I really like is it has an open bay in the back where I can add another hardrive within the all in one! and the crafstmanship is stunning this thing is like a piece of art (it can be hung on the wall also). Only snag is there’s no built in bluetooth, what were they thinking? I couldn’t find any Sony desktop forums, so i posted here, as I said, I am a lucky owner of a sz labtop. ok, just venting my contentment, ciao.

Sony Vaio S380 Recovery DVD

Merry Christmas!

I was wondering if someone could let me know of anywhere i can purchase a recovery DVD for the Vaio S380? I did not make a recovery disc when i originally got the laptop. I wanna get rid of the partition for the recovery so that i can free up some exra HD space like on my TR3A.

Any help wouild be most appreciated.

Hi,

Does anyone know how to dismantle the laptop. Mine has a problem most probably with the graphics chip or may be the whole mother board has gone. First of all, I wish to change the HDD as this might just be the problem.

The problem in hand is that I am unable to load the 2nd CD of software that came with the laptop, the message on the blue screen comes is, “Register your vaio” on the right hand upper corner and the screen freezes!

Any help or suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Widcomm Bt Stack in VGN-S5HP

Hello!

i would appreciate your help if somebody could tell me how can i install the Widcomm Bluetooth stack in my S5HP! ..i want to send the audio out to my bluetooth-mobilephone so i can here laptop-musik on my mobile!

When i run the “btwinitialupdate.exe” which i’ve downloaded from broadcom.com i get the message: “No Bt devide has detected ..” and i must cancel the installation!

PLS give me some tricks!!!

Changing Carbon Fiber Casing on new SZ

I recently purchased a SZ391n/x…blah blah.
I unfortunanly got the brown carbon fiber casing and am wondering if there is a way to remove the casing and get a replacment (for the premeim black). Or just remove it so I can get it laser etched/painted or remade.

More direct - I’ve seen articles on dismanteling the bottom part of the laptop, but no articles on removing the monitor portion that I need to get too the carbon fiber casing.

[sideNote] I wish we didnt use the same words for many the diffrent things - sz vaio and casing always gets the wrong stuff - although i do have a nice case on order b/c of it! [/sideNote]
