Useful PSP tips Thread tag:https:,2005:/www.siliconpopculture.com/forum/viewthread/.4318 2005-03-28T13:11:16Z Concura I’ve been lurking around the Internet for more PSP information, and this thread actually formed from an idea in the IGN PSP General Boards (sort of). Anyways, post your tips on the PSP, interesting or useful features you’ve found relevent to post up, or just post your comments!

Turn Off LCD Backlight
Some of you who’ve read through the manual may already know this, but to turn off the LCD backlight instead of waiting for it to go out,
*Hold the backlight-intensity button (the one under the screen on the right of the PSP logo) for a couple of seconds until the screen goes black.

Mute Sound on PSP
Hold the music note button (the one under the screen to the left of the Select button) for a few seconds until the sound goes out. Press again to restore sound.

Put PSP Asleep
Sleep mode: slide the Power switch all the way up quickly and the system will enter Sleep mode.

Power PSP Off
Hold the Power switch all the way up for a few seconds until the Screen goes black and the backlight turns off.

Post your tips away!!

*Concura

Fake MS Duo sticks…good article tag:https:,2006:/www.siliconpopculture.com/forum/viewthread/.5832 2006-02-03T02:53:34Z tifosiv122 I found this good article about fake Duo sticks floating around…as I’ve been told it’s hit the US as well with US packaging…

This is more towards the Asian market, but some of the things should translate to the US market too. I guess beware if it’s too cheap:

PSP Update 2.6 tag:https:,2005:/www.siliconpopculture.com/forum/viewthread/.5546 2005-11-28T23:01:28Z tifosiv122 -(RSS Channel) has been added as a feature under (Network).
-(Simplified Chinese(gb18030)) and (Traditional Chinese (big 5)) have been added as options to (Encoding) under (View) in the (Internet browser) menu bar.
-Characters may be indistinct in some cases when these encoding options are selected.
-(Volume ajustment) has been aded as a feature to (Location free player).
-You can now download video data that supports copyright protection using the (internet browser).
-WMA had been added as a codec that can be played under (Music)(This applies to music saved on the memory stick).

The volume adjustment for the PSP is ‘normal’ ‘+1’ and ‘+2’. It makes just enough difference that you can actually hear the TV now without straining your ears…good upgrade for that alone. RSS and WMA just make it that much better.
