So does anyone have any feedback as to whether or not the updated and original drivers from Sony on the Support Site will work for the TR2A when doing an upgrade to XP Pro?

it checks the bios for the model number..don’t think you’ll be able to since sony is known for locking updates to specific machines.

That’s how I did it.  I bought a Japanese TR2B with Windows XP Home (Japanese), bought XP Pro (English) and just downloaded all the drivers for the TR2AP.  I needed a different driver for the 802.11a/b/g card, but other than that it should go alright.
