Surya,

Have you tried downloading all of the drivers and updates from the Sony support page?

http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-swu.pl?mdl=VGNSZ110

Try these and see if they help.

Not sure a direct disk to disk transfer will work but if you have an external drive with enough space on it, you can use a software like Acronis True Image or Drive Image and create an image of your old harddrive, store the image on your external drive, install the new harddrive in your TR and then restore the image onto your new harddrive.

man.. i’m seriously thinking about doing this…

even w/ 1gb of ram, after 2 years of continuous installs/crap, etc., booting up this puppy is taking longer n longer, especially after hibernation, etc.

except i’m kinda scared…

if i do it using the acronis true image or drive image and create an image of my old Hard drive and store the image on an external HD then install the new HD on my tr3 then restore/transfer image files from external HD to NEW HD on tr3 would all my camera feature work like the capture button? so it be like the same old HD right?

yup, atleast that’s the point of those softwares raspberry

it always works for me….I once did a clean install of windows, got the camera (which no longer works  ), hot keys, etc to work, and made a backup using true image and have restored it and it works perfectly.

could i use only 2 HD. meaning 1 being the old/dying HD and the new HD? il install the acronis true image then make an image file on the new 40Gb HD using a external enclosure. Then use the new HD inside the enclosure and install it on my tr3?

Not sure I understand exactly what you are saying but you could try creating an image, store that image on the old harddrive itself (or burn it to a dvd if your TR has a dvd writer or to multiple cd’s). If you want to store the image on the old harddrive, you can swap the 2 drives, i.e. put new one inside TR and old one inside enclosure, then use true image to restore that image file you stored on the old hdd to your new one.

I doubt you can store the image file on the new hdd itself since I think true image performs a format of the destination drive.

ive got my TR to work already by ujsing acronis true image. its one great app! worth every cent i paid. Anyways this is what i did. i installed acronis on my OLD dying hd and made a clone of the old Hd to my new HD after waiting for 3-4 hours i took off the laptops case and installed the NEW HD and VIOLA! its working its like i never change the hard disk. This is the easiest way so far (i think) hehehe Thanks RAHUL! you the best! smile

Hi!
Recently had a problem with my hard drive which needed replacing. I have installed Windows XP service pack2 and all the drivers needed to get my vaio back in working order. The only problem is that I cant get the sound to work! Been on Sonys website and installed the drivers several times with no luck. Also, I was told it sometimes helps to install the motherboard drivers first, then the audio drivers afterwards, but no luck. I have a Sony TR3AP1.
Also, I dont have the motion eye software to use the camera properly. I have downloaded the drivers and can only use it by going through My Computer. Does anyone know where to get this from? This isnt as important as the sound though!
Please help!!

I have a TR2A and by following all the instructions here, I have everything working except the CAM. When I launch it all I see is a black screen with rolling static. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
