Hi guys,

I came across this: http://www.pcmemory.com.au/html/memory_series/VaioPCG_PCGX505Pmemory.html

I am wondering what is the consensus about it’s viability?

Hi markus -

Sorry - not an option.

512MB is standard in all X505 models.  The RAM is soldered directly to the motherboard.

The only way to upgrade the RAM would be to de-solder it from the motherboard, replacing it with higher-density chips.

thanks for the reply,

I am wondering is there anybody who has ever tried resoldering memory and succeeded or who knows someone that did?
