getting japanese keyboard function (Fn) key and kanjii keys to work with english windows XP

Can anyone advise?
I have the japanese x505- it works fine with english windows xp- except the fucntion key doesnt work
so i cannot change the screen brightness, for example
is there a workaround for this? a utiliy to get the key working, or another way of changing the brightness?
also is there a way to make the kanjii keys useful?

Try downloading and installing the X505 utilities and drivers.
