I’ve got a strange problem trying install UGPZ6. First I removing the old UGPZ5 and tried to put the new Z6 in the same connector in the computer but it doesn’t fit. the Z5 and the Z6 have two different connector sizes, I will include a picture to show this.
Am I missing something? How did everyone else install this in their type S laptops?

There is a nice search engine at:
https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/GenericSearch.cfm
In the field “Product Code” enter UGPZ6
When looking through the documents it’s looks like they unfortunantely have changed the connector from a 20pins to a 10 pins in the beginning of 2007. :-(
I don’t know how to tell which one you should have bought, all of the variants are named UGPZ6.
I guess you need the “full” order code to tell which one that fits the S or the TR series. UGPZ6XC02A is maybee a more complete part number, but this is just a guess.
I haven’t seen any picture of a label belonging to a UGPZ6 having a 20 pin connector.

Ah ha, so there is a variance in the pins for the same module. It still surprises me that they haven’t changed the model number to show the difference. Thanks very much for your information, I knew I couldn’t use the module anyway, but I wouldn’t been able to find that detailed info myself.
I guess the magic number is 20pins for the S series. Also the same for the UGPZ5. Thought I got a good deal with this but I guess I have no where else to turn to but sony for the correct part.
