Hi,

today I got my hands on a final of Windows Vista - English Version.

I installed it on my TR5MP with 1.5 GB Ram and it went through the installation without Problems.

So far I can say:  - it runs
                  - Sound is a problem
                  - there is a problem with shutdown

I will try the windows-xp driver from sony and report here.

The sound-device is reconiced as AC97. The driver seems to work but there is no sound out of the speakers. When a headphone is conneced, there is a minimun of noise and it is obvious that there is something…but unfortunatly not loud enough to be usefull.

Try it and report your experiences here in the forum.

Cu!

I thought the TRs could only accept 1 gig of ram max?

Nope, the TR can take up to 2GB of DRAM since that’s what the chipset officially supports. Sony only made the 1GB designation because at the time, 1GB uDIMMs did not exist on the market so the highest configuration you could get was 512MB x 2 = 1GB.

I’d heard Vista was going to be resource hungry - so what’s your initial impressions on the speed issue?

Hi to all, my Vaio TR5MP works with Vista but ....

For audio I must install XP driver ... then works !
Motion Eye don’t work at all and after Installed the XP driver SLEEP and Hibernate don’t work. WEB CAM freeze applications and don’t work.

After disabling Motion Eye (in safe mode) driver ... SLEEP and Hibernate works perfect !

Who has a Vista with Motion Eye working of you ?
Where can I find the right driver for Vista ?

Best regard and thanks for help.

Ok Folks, I have manually installed the driver for the PCGA-UVC10 Camera .... and here my surprise ! The Camera works !

But ... if the camera look in direction of my face ... my head is ... how can I say in english .... the Image is turned over.

When I turn my camera on the rear the Image is right but It take a photo.
Also ... the sensor for the “turned over” works as capture button.

Not so bad news .... I can say that Sony Web Camera TR5MP is vista capable .... we must wait for the right driver if sony make it.
