Ok, so I bought a UJ-822B on Ebay for about $95… the cheapest I could find… it came in, but my BIOS wouldn’t detect it.  The light on the drive was broken and the casing was slightly bent, so I assumed the drive was bad.  The Ebayer was nice enough to send me a second one under the assumption that the first drive was bad.  Well, the second one came in, and it looks like it’s in excellent condition, but it, too, will not be seen by my BIOS.

I’m using a Japanese TR5B.  It originally had a UJ-812B in it.  I am wondering if anybody else has had this problem.  Is the drive just not compatable with the BIOS, or is there something I can do about it?  I am very open to suggestions.
