Is the memory stick slot bootable?

Hello there.  I’m very much for Linux, but unfortunately, the vaio T, or any other model isn’t.  I now know USB ports can’t be bootable (for the vaio), how about the memory stick slot?  Anyone tried it yet?  By memory stick, I mean the thing like a chewing gum stick.
