This is a potential silly question but I’ve seen this done on desktops Where someone will have two operating systems running at the same time and by hitting some Ctrl-whatever combnination keys they switch to the other OS.

Is this theoretically possible on the tr2a with XP and fedora core 4 in different partitions?

Hmmm so VMWARE sounds good… I should probably upgrade to a gig of RAM before doing this.

Other free alternatives are colinux and cygwin.

You can also use Microsoft VirtualPC. But it’s not free. It’s emulatio of other operating system. You can run windows and amulate linux in the same time. First you run Xp then start VirtualPC and run linux. But there is a need of new instalation on virtual partition, and need for RAM. After this your xp is running like always and linux is in window that is opened in windows. My friend was doing this, i so it, but didyn’t have oportunity to check what are the abbilities of that king of runing linux. Hope this would be helpfull. Sory for my english:)

But Virtual PC is still way cheaper than VMWare these days…back a few years, VMWare was $100 for a full educ/testing version, but I believe they are now trimmed down to a $300 product.  VirtualPC is only $129 or something in that ballpark.
