non OEM batteries?

I looked on Ebay and have seen lots of non-OEM aftermarket batteries being sold for the T series at tempting prices. Has anyone tried these out? I keep hearing of horror stories with these non OEM batteries where they damage your computer quite badly.

never had a drama personally but my father inlaw bought an aftermarket one for his Vaio and it wouldn’t charge. He sent it back a couple of times and got replacements but same problem so they eventually gave him his money back (it seemed like the vaio was frying the pcb in the batteries). No damage to Vaio. I eventually got him a low use second hand OEM one from Japan and it’s been great.

After a couple of years of faitful service, my battery doesn’t hold more than a couple of hours of charge. I went to Sony, but so far as I can see, they stopped selling batteries for the T150. Does anybody know where I can get a new OEM battery?
