I dont think this drive require driver for windows. This drive is only need burner software to burn cd, dvd. Perhap your system has something wrong. It should use windows default driver.

I agree ... all I had to do was slip in the new drive and it was recognized by xp without issues.  As mentioned, you’ll of course need a burning software (I use Nero), especially for DVD burning.  One issue that’s been bugging me is that the bezel is not a perfect fit on the uj-832s.  It is damn close, but does not sit as flush as the original UJDA-745 I had.  Has anyone noticed this?  I know that the UJ832S is significantly lighter, but am not exactly sure but if it is any thinner.  If it is, then this may explain the less than perfect fit.  Other than that, it’s been awesome being able to burn DVD-RAM and dual layer DVD on my TR :D   Not to mention no issues with DVD region restrictions.
