Hi

I am willing to buy a TR3A (just got a deal), can anybody tell if the XBrite Screens are too Fragile to even been cleaned by Hankey?

How fragile they are as compared to normal TFT?

The reason for asking this question is several Reviews on internet crying out for less durable XBrite

I have had no problems with mine.  I love this screen and I keep it clean with a microfiber cloth and occasional use of Monster Screen cleaning fluid.

It certainly doesn’t seem any more fragile than any other laptop screen I have ever owned.

first time i heard this comment… so i tapped my T150 screen and then my Dell 2005 wide TFT, i must say the dell is tougher, seems almost like plexiglass, you dont get that ripple of colours, but i assume its also heavier too, i dont think it has to do with the xbrite technology, but then again who am i to say that…

well all i can say is yes the xbrite screen is strong enough for a wipe over with a tissue.

I almost fell apart when read in a review that just a fall of pen on the Screen broke it!!

Another said while opening the Lid he somehow got to put the thumb on screen and it broke!!

The XBrite is a fine screen, and it looks gorgeous. You can see for youself. Just go to any computer store and look at the T series. The screen is almost the same as the TR.

It’s strong enough. I once put on the privacy filter PCGA-FL6 and the damn thing just refused to come off. I even applied a lot of force with both thumbs and it didn’t come off, but the relevant thing for this post is that even excessive force didn’t damage the screen in anyway.

Well I haven’t had and problems with my monitor and I clean it (with a regular rag) quite often.  Sure if you use excessive force it will probably break that thing easily but I don’t think anything bad is going to happy to it in normal situations.
