[quote author=“gr00vy0ne”]On an unrelated note…console emulation programs work really great on my TR1. I use Magic Engine (PC-Engine/TurboGFX emulator), SNES9x/ZSNES (SNES Emulator), and NESticle (NES Emulator). All of these run really well and can kill time really easily. I love old school games! Mindless fun!  LOL

where can you get the emulator and roms ..? smile

Forgot…

Once you get the program, run it and select the exe of the game or program you want to run, then check the box that says Emulate HM TNL Caps. The click run. You should be all set.

I have this game….my only gripe is when you need to control several character that are on completely different parts of the area and you need to keep scrolling to find them…otherwise it’s a surprisingly fun game…made by Electronic Arts.

have anyone tried Battlefield 1942 on TR? it says
minimun requirs:
500 MHz CPU
128 Megabytes of RAM
3D accelerated 32 MB video card or equivalent with HW-T&L
(Hardware Transform & Lighting) and 24-bit z-buffer
1.2 GB free hard disk space plus space for saved games
(additional space required for Windows swap-file and
DirectX 8.1 installation)
16X Speed CD-ROM/DVD-ROM
Directx 8.1 Compatible Sound Card
MS compatible mouse
Keyboard

even TR doesn’t have T&L. but it came with 64 mb will it still playable or not at all.

You could probably try to trick BF1942 with the utility mentioned above, but your performance is going to suck. The TR shouldn’t be your main games machine. I only use it for slow-moving games like RTSs, RPGs and other games where using a touchpad on the road isn’t a huge disadvantage.

tifosiv122: You can double-click on a character’s portrait to jump to him/her. They are making a sequel called Freedom Force vs. The Third Reich. City of Heroes, eat your pay-per-month heart out.

Re: BF1942 and even Desert Combat (one of BF’s total conversions), I have it running and running at what for me is a playable FPS @ 1024 x 768. Hell, I’ve even killed people online in DC and, keep in mind, this has been just by doing a default installation without any special apps on top of that.

Another game I’ve had luck with is Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. While tooling around the city it works great, however, when it starts to rain or any weather in general comes about - it chunks to an unacceptably slow FPS. Does anyone know how I can trick GTA into not using weather?

I didn’t know that, i’ll give it a try…seems like a great game to have on the TR.

has anybody tried this utility? I used to use this often on my old Voodoo Card set up to tweak things…

http://www.terravista.pt/Guincho/6405/x29.zip

it gives a good indication of what the card supports (openGL anyway) and FPS.
