I recently purchased a SZ391n/x…blah blah.
I unfortunanly got the brown carbon fiber casing and am wondering if there is a way to remove the casing and get a replacment (for the premeim black). Or just remove it so I can get it laser etched/painted or remade.

More direct - I’ve seen articles on dismanteling the bottom part of the laptop, but no articles on removing the monitor portion that I need to get too the carbon fiber casing.

[sideNote] I wish we didnt use the same words for many the diffrent things - sz vaio and casing always gets the wrong stuff - although i do have a nice case on order b/c of it! [/sideNote]

Any laptop can surely be dissassembled, but it usually takes a good while before a service manual gets out and people have ventured to try.  As for the parts you need, a good start would be to call Sony DAPC at 1-800-488-SONY and hope you get someone who knows what they’re talking about. - http://servicesales.sel.sony.com/ecom/accessories/web/index.jsp
