OK folks I hope someone can help me here.

My TX650p’s harddrive is dying. It turns on and I can work for long periods of time until I happen to bump the system or move it ever so slightly. It took a hard fall many months ago and was working fine but I guess it’s starting to take it’s toll.

So I’ve just ordered a new HD, which should be here by Tuesday/Wednesday. My question is how do I get the drivers installed. Should I just do a clean copy of XP, then once the system is on, download drivers to a CD on another computer and then use it for the laptop or is there a better way?

Thanks for your feedback. grin

Now the laptop has died. I got the new hard drive and tried to install it only to realize it’s the wrong type. So I put back in the original drive tried turning on the laptop and nothing.

Any thoughts. Please advise.

You probably got the ZIF version. ZIF and micro-ATA  which type of connector did you get?

Anyway Newegg has these for sale and is cheaper.  It’s Solid State though.
