Hey Guys, Im selling my TR3a. The laptop is in great condition cosmetically with the exception of the following: Camera works BUT shows the usual black screen or sometimes lines… small piece of plastic missing near the PCMCIA slot…(id say half an inch max). The laptop will also come without a hardrive and its connector.. parts that are easily replaced. I just have too much work stored on it and im keeping the drive as an external medium). The sony will come with its original battery (still holds atleast a 2hr charge) and its original adapter. I am asking $480 for it shipped in the United States with insurance… The price is firm… EWverything is guarenteed working…, all you have to do is just install a hardrive and you have yourself a fully functioning laptop.

I will post pics later.

I am in New york. I will accept paypal, money orders and personal checks. The latter must be cleared before shipping the laptop.

If anyone is interested, pls email me at kapemanifest at msn dot com

Thanks.

My S260P is on the fritz…it’s got the standard S series problem now after 2+ years of use. The common problem of the solder joints on the motherboard around the video chip are flaking out and the laptop shuts down w/ the slightest bit of movement.

For me, it’s not worth repairing. I contacted a vaiovillage member named smdbios (Joe) at http://www.aqstech.com/ and he seems to think it is likely the same problem. This repair runs around $200, +shipping to and from his shop. His company has made this repair to numerous S models over the years, so I think he knows the units pretty well.

I have not attempted to repair it and have no intentions to do so.

If anyone is interested in parts or the entire unit, you can make me an offer. I’m also going to post this same information over at vaiovillage for anyone there that might be interested.

PM me if you are interested…
